Eastbourne

Eastbourne is a picturesque harbour-side suburb that stretches from Point Howard down to Burdans Gate. To the north is Hutt Valley and to the south is the Parangarahu Lakes area. To the east, over Mount Lowry, is Wainuiomata along with the Wainuiomata trail project.

Climbing steeply from the narrow built-up area, the hilly tracks soon offer spectacular views over the harbour. Much of the area is covered in pristine native bush, which provides pleasant surroundings for the sometimes strenuous climbs.

All of the tracks in this area are restricted to foot traffic only – no bikes allowed.
